A legal disclaimer

La Bendicíon Foundation, LLC and its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively,  “La Bendicíon Foundation, Inc,” “we,” “us,” “our”) provide financial assistance and services to underprivileged, unhoused or lower income communities. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how La Bendicíon Foundation collects, uses, and discloses personal information we collect online (e.g., through our websites, like labendicionfoundation.com (“Websites”)), through our services, as well as offline through in-person interactions (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains the types of personal information we collect, how we may use and disclose your personal information, and the privacy choices that you have with respect to how we handle your personal information.

Please note, most personal information La Bendicion Foundation processes is collected on behalf of the nonprofit founders or companies (each, a “Client”) that use our Services and their interactions with you through their use our Services. For more information on how a Client uses personal information, including information collected through the use of our Services, please refer to the applicable Client’s privacy policy or contact them directly. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any websites, products, or services offered by any company that we do not own or control or any individual that we do not employ or manage. 

Privacy Policy - the basics

Having said that, a privacy policy is a statement that discloses some or all of the ways a website collects, uses, discloses, processes, and manages the data of its visitors and customers. It usually also includes a statement regarding the website’s commitment to protecting its visitors’ or customers’ privacy, and an explanation about the different mechanisms the website is implementing in order to protect privacy. 

 

Different jurisdictions have different legal obligations of what must be included in a Privacy Policy. You are responsible to make sure you are following the relevant legislation to your activities and location. 

What to include in the Privacy Policy

Generally speaking, a Privacy Policy often addresses these types of issues: the types of information the website is collecting and the manner in which it collects the data; an explanation about why is the website collecting these types of information; what are the website’s practices on sharing the information with third parties; ways in which your visitors and customers can exercise their rights according to the relevant privacy legislation; the specific practices regarding minors’ data collection; and much, much more.
